Skin Boosters
Skin Boosters
A skin booster is an injectable treatment that uses hyaluronic acid (HA) to hydrate, plump and nourish the skin.
HA is a natural substance found in the skin that attracts and retains water. Skin boosters are not meant to create volume or fill wrinkles, but rather to improve the skin texture, elasticity, firmness and radiance. The treatment involves injecting HA under the skin through a series of tiny injections.
The frequency of skin booster injections depends on the type of product and the number of treatments you choose. Generally, you need two sessions with an interval of four to six weeks for the initial treatment. The results can last up to six months or longer. You can repeat the process or have individual treatments every three to six months to maintain the results.
Skin booster injections are generally safe and well-tolerated, but they may have some side effects such as:
- Swelling, redness, bruising or pain at the injection site
- Small bumps or welts under the skin
- Itching or tenderness
- Fever, body aches or flu-like symptoms
These side effects are usually mild and short-lived, but you should seek medical help if they persist or worsen. You should also follow the proper aftercare instructions given by your doctor to minimize the risks and speed up the recovery.
